Thank you, ffjay! I've photographed the 4 bars from the Clifford Brown and Chris P examples you've shown and now to work!
Love these exercises, memorizing, then going thro' the keys. I've been doing this type of exercise with Steve Neff's 3 books I have. So good for the brain, including the ears.
BTW, great to hear you.

Tried these on clar. as well. Very good practice for alternate fingering.
