[Woosax]

A Seattle base jazz group with Chris ***an on alto. I first heard them on a streaming jazz internet station and picked up the new album on itunes. Here's a taste:

Nice sound. Too bad about the name "young lizzards"? More like middle aged lizzards and not at all photogenic. They should stick to making music and forget trying to do "band pictures" for groopies.

Would like to hear (not see) more of them.

Thanks for the plug and comments brothers. Yes, we are old but younger than the fossilized variety and we understand that groupies are out of the question (I blog under the name jazzdinosaur which might be closer to the truth.) Anyway, yes, I hope you enjoy the music. We charted at number 70 this week and are booking tour dates for the spring, Yours, Chris ***an, the old Young Lizard.

Heard "Mr Day" on KNTU this morning on my way to work. Ordered your album shortly after I walked in the door. Funny thing is while I was listening to the song I figured you were a bunch of 20 somethings. Fantastic!

I've been working on "If I should Lose You"
I have some nice versions of it by Jesse Davis and Ricky Woodard on alto (I thought they were both Phil Woods before I checked who was playing)

I wanted to check out some other versions and when I saw the Chris ***an had a version without piano and Reggie Workman on bass I had to get it.

It was brilliantly played by Reggie and Chris and I strongly recommend it.

If anybody picks it up let me know what you think of the trumpet solo?
Imho it sounded like he was skating over the changes.
Chris goes out a few times but relates it to the harmony so (to me) it works.
