I need to replace the case for my Buescher True Tone soprano sax (c. 1929). I ordered a Pro Pac (ProTec) case, figuring that it wouldn't be perfect, but it would get the job done—but it's terrible. I can't believe that this case would be recommended for ANY soprano sax. I've tried moving the velcro bumpers and padding around, but I just can't find any position that prevents the horn from moving around inside the case.

Has anyone found a case that well fits the TT soprano? I'm curious about the Jakob Winter case.

I have the ProTec one and I don't like it very well either. However it's got good storage space for reeds mouthpiece reed clipper etc.

I will undoubtedly end up using expanding foam and fabric store velvet to custom fit it for my instrument.

My 1926 Buescher TT soprano lives comfortably inside a BAM Trekking case, with room for up to three mouthpieces in snug slots & for various accessories in a long lidless cavity. Storing the sax with a collapsible K&M 5-leg stand in its bell makes it a tight fit.

Closure is via zipper, not latch. Zippers have performed flawlessly without snags or derailment. The case exterior features a small accessory pocket and a large flat pocket for sheet music. Also two backpack-style padded straps, comfy enough for hands-free transit if you're standing or walking. There's a rain-resistant cover which tucks away when you don't need it.

Mine is the older style of Trekking case, which I believe is still available. (How its interior space might compare to the New Trekking case or any other BAM case, I don't know.) My case has held up well over 4 or 5 years of moderate use around town (car trunk, bandstand, etc.).

Thanks for the recommendation. Would you mind posting a picture of your sax inside the case, so I can see the fit?
