can't get front hi F to play

1353 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  segaleon
I'm playing a new soprano, R&C curved. Before that, played a Selmer MK 6 with no front hi F key.

I can easily play hi F and hi F# with the palm keys, but for some reason, can't play hi F using the front hi F key (fingering C with middle finger of left hand along with front hi F key).

Any ideas, tips and guidance?

Has the horn been checked by a tec recently?
i had the same problem on my tenor, but when i looked at the front F key, i noticed it was bent and wasnt raising the pad at all.
i just bent it back, but taking it to a tech would be better.

I'll bet that little key/pad above the upper fork of the front f has a leak or isn't closing.
thanks

off to have it checked at the doctor's...
