Got this at Sam Ash Music the other day brand new. The price on the tag was $3,349.99 but got it for $2,849 99 (500 off).

I am just getting back into sax after about 4 decades of not playing and even back then I never learned the right way, so basically I’m a beginner.

I was leasing a student model horn for a few weeks because I wanted to see if I was serious enough to get back into it. Turns out I am so I pulled the trigger.

Here are some pictures.

Beautiful horn at a good price. I have a Vintage Reborn alto that is still my favorite horn out of many different brands. Congrats and enjoy the new tenor.

I purchased a Cannonball Vintage Reborn three weeks ago. I love the horn! I played a Yamaha and a Selmer in the store, and the Cannonball was more open and centered than the other two. I also found that I like the stock mouthpiece, a Cannonball 5J. I have a Otto Link STM NY 7 and a Vandoren T55 hard rubber, and I like the sound of the Cannonball mpc better.

I like my Vintage Reborn alto too. The altissimo is easy for me on this horn. and the tone has the sweetness and body I was looking for. I've had it about a year now.

I also prefer the Cannonball mouthpiece. I have a Vandoren T20 that sits on a shelf.

When I got my Raven Tenor, the salesmen played it with the standard mouthpiece and then a Select D6M, which is all I play.

Congrats on a beauty! I remember when Cannonball was a new company, I placed an order through my local music shop, and they never ended up ordering it. They deposited my check and used it to pay other bills. Super shady. They eventually made it right, but I had already moved on to another horn. I was always bummed about never getting my Cannonball.

These are one of a very few select horns that occasionally pull my interest away from my Martin. They have a big booming voice, tons of power. The aesthetics are very cool and they feel good under the fingers. Most shops don't set them up well enough to know their true potential, but when they are set up well, they'll compete with a lot of horns at 2x-3x the price.
