Hello, I have spent the last two weeks transcribing and playing this fabulous solo by one of my favourite sax player ever: Cannonball Adderley. I always loved his style, incredible techinque, articulation, strong bebop language combined with visceral blues inflections. A timeless player.
I played his solo on my trusty Conn12m baritone. Hope you enjoy it.
Let me know your impressions,
bye Fabrizio

Thank you! Over the years I have listened, and studied mainly tenor players. I think that (beside Charlie Parker of course!) Cannonball was to me heavily influenced by tenor players. I hear some Illinois Jacquet and Gene Ammons in his approach. Of course he elaborated his influences up to a point where he sounded like Cannonball! What a player! One of the greatest altoist ever lived! His articulation was also very personal and absolutely flawless techically.

That was fantastic Fabrizio! And on bari no less. As an alto player I find it very inspiring. I will have to take a break from working on Charlie Parker tunes and pick up on some Cannonball. Keep them coming I really enjoy your stuff.
