As per the title, Can anyone recommend some ligatures that work well with a metal Durga 4 alto mouthpiece?
Nothing wrong with the performance of the TW stock one that came with it, I just don’t like the look of it. Love the mouthpiece itself.

I like the BG jazz ligs etc, but their website doesn’t like the metal Durgas as a fit.
Does anyone have any experiences with 3rd party ligs on a metal Durga 4 or 3?

Thanks guys

Which specific ligature from GF did you get for the Durga?
I don't have a Durga, it's not my sort of piece, but according to the Rovner website a L-1RL(L6) would be correct.
The GF website is less forthcoming, but if memory serves, the alto Durga is quite a fat piece (as is the tenor version) so I think a GF09M or a GF09L would do the trick - probably better to go with the 09M as there's a reasonable leeway in those ligatures. Maybe if you could compare the alto Durga to another piece we might be able to pin it down for you.

Yea I tried the 1rl rovner ligature on my Durga 3 alto but it was too big I looked at rovner sizing charts and saw maybe a 1mb would fit which is a soprano ligature that also fits slim metal mouthpieces I’m just not sure if it will fit. Might give it a try
