This is a Gretsch Commander, serial # 24500. I'm trying to identify what stencil this is.
At first I guessed Holton, but I've never seen a pinky cluster like this.
Anybody?

I think it's an early Buescher Elkhart 30A stencil. The later ones had a squarish G sharp key.

It’a a Buescher /Elkhart 30A ( they made they stencils and yes, early have rounded G# later have square ones)

This is much the same as my Gretsch Commander tenor. There are a few giveaways as to the original maker:
The layout of the pinky cluster with the brown rollers; and
the layout of the serial number in an arc, rather than in a straight line
both indicate a Buescher.
Not shown in your photos but mine has a "keel" on the bow at the bottom. This is very similar to that on my Buescher curved soprano. My later Gretsch alto. with very similar keywork, has a flat reinforcement and I would guess that my tenor is pre-WWII while the alto is post war,
They are great saxes from the time before Selmer took over the market.
Not all Gretsch saxes are Buescher - some were made by Conn and apparently some were made by Beaugnier (Gretsch was an importer of Leblanc instruments)
