Is Manny's still there in NYC? I remember stumbling into that place in 1964 and seeing a world of Selmers in all of those glass-door cabinets going to the ceiling. The best thing about it was you never knew who you might be rubbing shoulders with in there.

I remember Manny's from the 1970s. It was THE place for woodwinds in NYC. The last time I visited, about 10 years ago, I was surprised to see that they had no woodwind department at all--no horns, no reeds, nothing.

I enjoyed browsing in the horn room at Roberto's.
