He was great with the Don Ellis Orchestra in the 70's. Prolific composer of odd meter tunes for big band, which was right up Don's alley. I remember a tune called Bulgarian Bulge that was in 33/4. Try counting that one.

IIRC, he was also in the band at the same time as Jon Klemmer and Juroslav Jakubovic.

I always liked Milcho's playing with Art Pepper....and I give anyone kudos for enduring being in a group with Art Pepper.

Don Ellis was another giant gone all too soon. His stuff still sounds very fresh and unique.
Yeah, amazing that even after all these years it still sounds contemporary. It is very creative and unique, far ahead of its time. Leviev and a number of others were fabulous musicians who really made that band.
