I have a Buescher "400" alto (ser. 53xxxx) so I think made late 60's/early 70's? Looking to pair with a new mouthpiece. Currently using a Rousseau 4R... going for a dark/classical sound. I have decent tone/intonation but have never had good projection/or produced a 'big' sound. I have a solo coming up and need to project over an 80+ person wind ensemble. Any suggestions appreciated! I've checked out the SOTW post with the nice classical mouthpiece list. Wondering what other 'Buescher' players have pair with their horn. Hoping to try some out this week. Thanks!

I pulled a nice Steve Broadus Perfected S3 from a Buescher Aristo case this weekend. Big chamber and scooped rails. I can't test it right now due to an injury.

Pictures are available and it is priced reasonably. PM if interested.

Buescher 400s are pretty mouthpiece friendly, though I think they tend to favor a chamber with straight walls. I play on a Great Neck Tonalin.
