T-T necks will work but some won't play in good a tune as others. They went thru various dimensions.

If you have an alto, the 270 and up range used a neck marked 01.

What neck will work on this alto? Will a true tone neck be ok? I notice a few differences between them. I have two of these fine horns, one with no neck. Would appreciate any advise.
Are they split bell horns or are the low B and Bb toneholes on the same side of the bell? If it's a New Aristocrat with the split bell, a TT neck should work, but your upper range might play sharp. A neck marked 3 would work too, but you'll never find one (and if you did, it would likely be priced up to $500... maybe more). Another one would be the two star neck with two asterisk-like markings; but again, very rare. I actually found an Aristocrat 01 neck on ebay some time ago and it cleaned up the intonation on my late model True Tone. That was probably close to fifteen years ago and I have never seen another since on the market. So it would be an incredibly lucky find to get a hold of a 01 neck.

If the bell toneholes are on the same side and it's an Aristocrat I, a Bundy neck might be worth a try. You could also take a shot with the cheap ones coming out of China that some on the site swear by as adequate replacements... but I haven't read about anyone trying one on a Buescher as of yet.

It's an Aristocrat 1, I tried a TT neck but it was wrong diameter too loose. It's been 17 years and I'm still looking.
The tenon can easily be adjusted. You need to find a neck that plays well in tune over the full range (seal it with tape while trying it), and then have a technician adjust the tenon and the octave key to fit the horn. I'd try a Bundy neck.
