I am getting the bronze 92 neck for my A901 alto, because I want a darker sound. I have heard it sounds more "vintage" in terms of response and feel. I can't wait to try it.

Why don't you try A-992 ?
It is really an excellent horn with dark, warm, rich and sweet sound.
IMO, A-901 with 92 neck won't be better than A-992 in any aspects.
And A-992 will be more like a "vintage" on its sound, feel and intonation...
Try it!
(If you have more $$, A-9937 will be the best choice.)
