are they sounding alike Brilhart Tenor Hard Rubber and Brilhart personaline Hard Rubber ?
Brilhart HR =/= Personaline HR TEnor

The Personalines came in two different chambers, a medium and a large. So I would say that the medium plays brighter. The large is probably similar. I had a personaline once and it played brighter than what my 'hard rubber' does. Though I am not sure which chamber I had.
The only thing I know is that both can be very good mouthpieces and that the personalines can be found for less $$$.

Just to confuse things, there's an HR Personaline as well, correct?

these...BOTH... are at the top of my favorites list....
and to make it clear the ebolins and tonalins are not!!!
i just cant get any projection out of them..even though the tonalin has a real nice thing to it...and my friends sound great on them!!
ive has a HR brilhart for about a year now and love it(reface by sakshama)
ive got a HR personaline that is taking its time finding its way to me.....
..meantime i couldnt wait!! and got a tonalin personaline S5...original,untouched yay!! it is big enough for me!! feels great,and has a wonderful blow to it. I am now finally selling my Steve Broadus and Tonalin Brilhart because the tonalin gives me what i wanted....a special sound,with enough punch to play with a band....i was holding on to the mentioned 2 because they sounded great...but only in my living room....
ive got extremely high hopes for the HR personaline,and will update when it arrives
...and if you can get your hands on an original vintage 1 screw brilhart lig,they are a great match...sounds excellent on my slant sig as well.....

I never saw a 1-screw Brilhart ligature. Can you post a picture, bitte ?

I've never played any of the Personalines, but recently I was able to eyeball a rubber Personaline tenor piece, and I think there's a strong possibility that the rubber Vandoren Java series (like the T75) may be based on the rubber Personalines. Same basic shape and similar chambers, though the Javas have a bit more material in the floor and more baffle. Years ago I heard somewhere that the Java pieces were based on hard rubber Brilhart pieces, which assumed meant the regular "Hard Rubber" model; after seeing a rubber Personaline in person (heh) I think that's the rubber Brilhart piece in question. Anyway, could be -- anybody every hear such a thing (other than from me elsewhere in this forum![rolleyes])?

I use a Hard rubber Personaline 'Slant' S5 and it sure is a killer piece.
It has the large chamber with scooped out side walls and huge dark tone
but with a bite and great projection. It is a little reed finnicky however.
I tried several nice Personalines plastic and hr in the past years but this one beats them all
in flexibility and character. The tone sure has the characteristics of a darker Link (although
I have never played a vintage Slant Link but I did try the New Vintage Slant). The Personaline
having a more focussed tone to cut through.
I would not rule out the Ebolins though. The few I kept are great playing and sounding too
with enough projection to my liking. And I also play lots of R&B with them.
Another 'Brilhart' I love and use frequently is not a real Brilhart at all
but a Steamersound Pres mouthpiece. A sort of hybrid between an Ebolin and a metal mouthpiece
with a huge warm sound that is aimed to get you in the smooth sounding Lester Young territory. And it does for sure.
Although it is great growler for R&B too with a nice bright edge on top.
