Does anyone know where I can locate some recordings of the Hymn Arrangements for Jazz Combo, done by Bradley Sowash? His website has some recordings of him playing the tunes on piano, but I'd like to hear it played by a combo.

Keep it soft.

LazySaxman,

Can't help with your specific question, although I did go to his site and enjoyed what I heard!

If you're looking for combo charts on hymns, we have 'em. 16 arrangements right now and adding more soon. Click here to get audio samples and see scores.

Volume 4 was just released this summer and has been well received. The charts work great with intrumental soloist (sax, of course!) and piano alone or full rhythm section.

Regards,

Thank you SaxHack, if I need charts sometime, I'll know where to look.

But to make it clearer, I'm just looking for some recordings. I will be playing with a combo at a church service in a week, and there will be one rehearsal on Wednesday. I've got the music, I just want to know what it's "supposed to sound like"

LazySaxman,

You can listen to most of 'em by clicking here.

Only one tune from of each of the 3-packs published by Augsburg Fortress appears to have a demo available, however. And I found nothing at the Augsburg site for demos. I don't understand why publishers don't have audio and printed samples of everything online!
