Hello all- hope everyone is staying healthy, mentally and physically during these trying times. I’ve been using the time saved from commute to my office by practicing more on my tenor. Been really working at low tones and harmonics to reach solid altissimo. But I need some balance with ear training and filling my bag with some riffs and scale patterns. I used to own a book “patterns for jazz”, but I play in the rock genre and am looking for something more applicable to rock/blues. I just need something to push me past this rut of ascending and descending scalar runs. Maybe this is more in line with building improv, but I think a book or some source that offers sone good patterns/licks/riffs would be a great start. I like Aebersold stuff okay, but again, just trying to not get as complex as Jazz. I think I could do well even just working in maj pentatonic. Any suggestions?

Check out the Serious Jazz Practice Book, by Barry Finnerty - guitarist for Miles Davis, The Crusaders, and many more.
