Would anybody know what the taper angle of a sax body is, also are all saxophones the same angle, eg soprano alto tenor baritone. Im going to machine up some internal dent mandrels and wondereed if anyone new already the answer. Ive taken measurements and I end up with a 1.478 degree taper. Anyone else

I'm under the distinct impression that the semi-angle varies significantly not only between sizes, but between brands. How close do you need to be?

I'll measure my horns when I get back to Tokyo. Have you measured all of yours and come up with a consistent angle?

As far as I am aware there is not one exact taper which is universal for any or all, even though some are similar, but not exact. Even the former Yamaha warranty shop in Grand Rapids, Yamaha custom shops, and Yamaha Atelier pro shop all use the Ferree's sax body mandrel.
