You look a bit like Jon Bon Jovi!

I know you're Swedish but it's concert. (again , but someone else would have said it anyway)

Liked it. Good stuff!

Get a group together with the clarinet player (first one to solo) and guitarist (if you haven't already). They're a bit better than you and it'll push you on (IMHO). :)

Sounds nice! Good tenor tone ( I imagine that you play saxophone), perhaps a little bit more breath support and work on the solo trying to avoid some notes that didn't really belong there (but you know that already, I am sure)

Both the solos and the theme are a little bit " square" ( I mean all very much on the beat , you can all loosen up a little).

Wear a Jacket on top of the harness! :bluewink:

Hey, you had the audience in your collective palm; that's a good start. It seemed that a couple of the solos ended before the 32 bars were over but the next soloist picked right up so no big problem there. The great rhythm section really helped hold things together. I'm not going to critique the horns too heavily, you guys are learning the style and I don't expect you to sound like professionals. You all had good moments and you all looked like you were enjoying yourselves. For the clarinetists: try to develop a clarinet approach to your lines, as opposed to a sax approach. The clarinet has a supple flexibility and a huge range and it's good to show these characteristics off. Tenorman had a good core tone and I liked the way he went into the second chorus. The ensemble 'dogfight' before the last chorus was fun. You all sounded like you were listening to each other and you all looked comfortable so I'll just encourage you to keep playing, keep learning, and keep listening. And have fun.

You know I listened again because I realised that I was being a bit of an arse with my first comments. You all played very nicely actually and you should rehearse together. I'm thinking maybe the guitarist could be one of your teachers at school?

Thanks!
Concert, right :p

I am the saxophonist, yes. Thanks for the tips! I was trying my best to make it easy listening for the audience because of the very different musical tastes amongst them. I'm usually more wild!

Thanks a lot! We felt the same way being on stage.

The guitarist is indeed a teacher. I didn't find your first comment offensive at all.

Great experience being up in front of a supportive audience. It's hard to relax completely in that situation, but that's what's needed. The rhythm section gave good solid support which makes it easier to be in the groove and then step out and solo. Great the way the guitarist supported everyone.

Constructive criticism: Uae your dynamics to work with the tune and flow. At 1:33 you are suddenly increasing volume, but it seems only because the note feels comfortable. You have a good sense of flow and phrasing, so let this guide you.

Thanks!
Bloody Scandinavians. Far too well-adjusted.
I like the look of Jon Bon Jovi.
You pointed out a fact.
You gave a compliment.
Opinionated advice. The 1st clarinet is IMO better than me at technical stuff/playing the instrument, while I'm ahead in creativity and musical sense. We learn from each other. We do play in a marching band together, and I'm looking into starting some sort of jazz band in which he will most likely be a member. The guitarist is again my teacher.
I don't take offense from opinions, if people are being arses I just laugh at their intolerance. I did not have any reason to laugh at you ;).
