I would like to have the white pearls replaced with black onyx. Any idea where to look to have this done in the atlanta area and what the cost might be.

Horn is a silver plated IW-601-TSSP

I don't know about black onyx, but I used to have a Cannonball Raven with the dark Picasso Jasper stone touches. I liked the way they felt under my fingers, and they would probably give you the look you want on your silver plate horn. I don't know how much they are, but you can order them through a Cannonball dealer.

That's a possibility. I want the black look. i have a silver ring (actually white gold) with black onyx that belonged to my grandfather and like the way it looks. Thanks for the idea. Any clue what it would take to have them swapped out?

I'm sure it wouldn't take much...Probably an easy job for a tech, maybe a little tougher to do yourself, but possible.

Well, some of them are simply glued in. Cannonballs have them glued in. Some rubber cement actually.(I had to replace some). Perhaps someone can chime in.

I order mine through the local music store's repairman, but I don't believe you have that line of stores. You could probably e-mail them with some measurements and ask.

I got black pearls on my System 54 tenor.They do look great and feel great.

This is an interesting question. I've looked around a little on this and come up with absolutely nothing for options when it comes to aftermarket pearls.

Oh geeze sorry! I didn't check in on this forum after I posted. I ordered them through the repair branch of Buddy Rogers Music in Cincinnati. It's a small chain here.
