Beware of SOTW Member sunpowerusa

I recently purchased an aristocrat tenor without a neck from this SOTW member. He lives in California I am in NY. He was suppose to of shipped it out on Monday 4/17/23. It is now 11 days+ later and no horn. I have asked this member 4 times for a tracking number without a reply. When we were negotiating he was quick to reply. I payed Venmo, so I get that I may be out the money, however I am more concerned that others know so they also will not get burned. If the horn does show up later today or in the next few days I will update. I hate going this route, however, he is not to be trusted. Communication could of prevented this.

That's a shame this happened. I bought a sax from him 2 years ago. There was communication and a tracking number was provided. His latest activity here was 3 days ago. Hmmmmmm........

Someone else had posted about a horn they bought from him and it took a few weeks but I guess the horn showed up eventually(?) the lack of communication is troubling for sure

Stuff happens but there's no excuse for not giving you a call or and email response. I had a mixup where I bought a mpc from a member here. I got the piece right away but he didn't get the check and went "looking" for me here on SOTW. The difference was I got right back to him once I realized he hadn't gotten the check. He'd tried to PM me but I don't check for PMs every day so I had no idea. You don't get a heads up from SOTW you have to go looking for the PM by clicking on the avatar icon at the top of the page. Anyway, I sent him a new check. Then he got the original check a few days later. Somehow in going from CA to Canada the original check got lost in the mail. It happens especially with international mail.

You don't get a heads up from SOTW you have to go looking for the PM by clicking on the avatar icon at the top of the page.
FWIW, I think you do get a 'heads up' with a blue bubble lit up next to that avatar. An alert for both PMs (conversations) and quotes or activity on threads you are engaged in.

Graysax, hopefully the sax will eventually arrive, and you won't be out the money, but there's really no excuse for the lack of communication. Thanks for the warning.

I'm surprised. He has been selling a lot of saxes here so I've always assumed that he's a legit dealer. Guess I was wrong.
I sent him a PM telling him you were concerned.

Hopefully, he will respond to one or both of us promptly.

I actually get an email anytime I have a PM in my SOTW mailbox. You just have to update your settings under preferences. See the screenshot in my post below
I bought a horn from him a few years ago that was definitely not as described. He raved about it and said that his sax tech also raved about it. It cost me $400 to get it into playing order. I brought it up to him in a text and never heard back.
