My friend's husband passed recently and she is looking to sell some of his instruments. She has a Buescher sax, marked "Evette-Schaeffer Paris France" with a serial number 7962. From what I've gathered on a few websites, this sax could have been manufactured somewhere between 1888-1908. I'm sure you folks would know much more about this instrument and any info you may have on it's value would be deeply appreciated. I'd don't want to see her get taken if the sax has true value. It's in an original case and looks to be in good shape. Thanks! Phil

Well I can say first off this probably wouldn't be a Buescher, as it's an Evette-Schaeffer, and probably not one of the original Buffets but one of the later Marlerne or Santoni made ones, and is probably not that old unless it also says Buffet on it.
Some pictures would be immensely helpful.
