I was listening to John Patitucci's "One More Angel" CD this morning, featuring Mike Brecker (and Chris Potter). Always amazed at how gently and sensitively Brecker could play, considering what a technical monster he was. Have a listen to the title track here:

It's a relatively short solo, but he says so much, so softly, with such respect for the subject matter. YMMV, but it really moved me.

Yeah! That's intense, real dark & brooding - I LOVE Charlie Haden's writing. One of my faves too.
