I copied the photos from the site and tried to download them to this message. After 10 minutes of waiting for the download to finish I gave up. I had no problem getting on the site. I got there by clicking on the link in the thread. How frustrating.

Thanks, I think you're right. I have a 1919 Buescher C that looks very similar. Even the sillouette face as a brace on the neck looks the same. I'm not familiar with antique tenor Bueschers, mine is from the 50's and is lacquer not silver plate. It looks like a nice horn though.

Professional flutes have gold alloy springs that are single diameter wire. They are held in place by flattening one end so it will be tight in the action. Of course the tension is much lower.
