Hello everyone,
Lester Clancy here.
Back in 2020, I purchased new and still have both the following 2 Barkley alto sax mouthpieces.
a) Barkley hard rubber alto Kustom Pop 7 (red/black marble swirl) from eBay
b) Barkley gold metal Verdot 7 directly from Barkley Brazil website... (had to pay an extra $50.00 to have it shipped from Brazil to the United States... Ohio by the way).
The Kustom Pop is a screamer similar in sound and design to the Vandoren Jumbo Java (which I also had at that time). I kept the Kustom Pop and sold the Jumbo Java.
As far as the Verdot... I only used it a couple of times (an hour tops) ... as I liked the sound and very free-blowing aspect of my metal Jody Jazz DV better. All things considered, I wished I had ordered a Verdot 8 facing instead of the Verdot 7 for a more open sound. Nevertheless, l kept the Verdot 7 because I didn't want to pay the shipping cost of sending the Verdot 7 back to Brazil to exchange it for a Verdot 8 facing, and then have to pay another $50.00 to have Jr. Barkley send the Verdot 8 sent back to me.
So, I've kept the mint condition Verdot 7 and all of its original contents (tubing, pouch, ligature, and mouthpiece cap) in storage in hopes of selling it to someone here in the United States. And now that tax return season is here, I think now's the perfect time to do so.

The two Barkley mouthpieces I've purchased are made with excellence, quality, and care. I have also decided to sell my hard rubber Kustom Pop as well as my Verdot since my main go-to mouthpiece has been and still is my Jody Jazz DV.... an all-around mouthpiece as far as I'm concerned. I also just ordered/purchased a new metal Jody Jazz DV NY (New York model) to complement my standard Jody Jazz DV mouthpiece. It's currently on backorder and is supposed to be shipped sometime this week. So, any money I receive from the sale of either or both of my Barkley mouthpieces will offset the $550.00 of my soon coming JJ DV NY mouthpiece (also with a #7 facing).
My Kustom Pop has been used very little and shows no sign of wear on the table (reed side) or on the biteplate area whatsoever (since I've always played it with a thick rubber mouthpiece cushion. It is in very good / very great condition. The only reason I can't classify it as being in mint condition is that THERE IS a ligature scratch on the backside of it (again not on the actual biteplate itself. It didn't come with an original mouthpiece cap or ligature.... but I will include a Rovner ligature and mouthpiece cap with it... as well as the protective black cloth mouthpiece pouch/bag it came in.
Check out the Barkley website for the selling prices of these mouthpieces. I haven't decided on a selling price yet but will entertain any reasonable purchase offer... even though for less the Barkley website price (and without the high shipping price you'd pay if you have Barkley sell and send you one from Brazil. This is for US buyers only! I will not sell or ship overseas, (including Alaska and Hawaii) or anywhere out of the country.
If interested contact me via personal email (

Please note I'll be posting these mouthpieces on and in the "Mouthpieces for Sale" section of this Sax on the Web site along with some other mouthpieces sometime this month if I don't get any offer from this post, in which my primary objective is to respond to the post itself and inform you of the quality sound of Barkley Brazil mouthpieces... at least of the ones I've personally purchased and tried.

P.S. Wasn't the Verdot mouthpiece Christmas duet simply amazing.
