Jon Van Wie once told me one of his methods for opening up the tip of a metal mouthpiece was to put it in a vice and start whacking the tip with a hammer.

Cousin Earl and His Heliarc Welder to the Rescue

WAIT.... There's hope. My cousin Earl is pretty good welding on stainless steel. He recently put bigger breast on the stainless steel cut-out women on his truck mudflaps. They looked pretty good too. Kind'a like Anna Nicole after she got on TrimSpa. I'll bet Earl can fix this right up.
