I recently acquired one of these and am knocked out by its ease of use and quality of sound. I have always enjoyed playing the flute on otherwise acoustic gigs in addition to the sax and clarinet, but haven’t enjoyed hauling mike stands and cumbersome sound reinforcement equipment to be heard over the rhythm section on flute. This microphone does the trick while not picking up key noise or breath sounds, and a little Roland street amp provides more than enough sound to be heard. These may have been replaced by the 6100 pickup, which is installed in the flutes end cork, and I understand transmits a good bit of key noise, a problem this model doesn’t have. If you enjoy playing the flute in small group settings this may be an ideal solution.

Interesting. But I kind of like some of the breath and even key noise for a more organic sound, but it would be nice to be able to control it.
