In 2010 Tetraphonics flew to England and had the pleasure to work with renowned british saxophonist Barbara Thomson and her husband Jon Hiseman on a music video of sorts. The piece is called 'Geeen', one of six movements from her Quartet No.2 for saxophone quartet.

We filmed this on a beautiful sheep farm outside of London and paired it with the recording we made on our latest CD, The Invitation. We hope you enjoy!

Very nice. I first became aware of Barbara when I saw the United Jazz + Rock Ensemble at a jazz festival in Germany in 1992 or 1993. From then on, I caught her every couple of years with them or in various settings. She's a very talented musician. It seems that she has her Parkinson's disease under control. How is she doing?

Oh - about the music, itself. Was there a connection between the melodic theme and Northumbrian pipe melodies?

Beautiful music very well played. I'm less sure about the music video convention of having to show the band playing in all sorts of situations, but found the setting very beautiful as well. Would have been more satisfying to just show vistas without the band.

Absolutely beautiful piece and gorgeous playing. Very moving.

I loved the video.

Too bad your group can't afford any decent instruments and have to play those pathetic old Bueschers :)
