i listened to some of the sound clips on the one that is the TENOR model. Uh........LOL!!! that sounded like whale songs played 10 times to slow. I'm obsessed though, I have to try and emulate on my axe, if I can't get that sound then I'm going to have to buy 3 more necks and 5 more mouthpieces.

Looking around at the various "xaphoon" like instruments...apparently there a quite a few different makers out there now... listen to the sounds of the alto and tenor versions on this page...

I'm thinking of trying the xaphoon pocket sax for traveling/hiking. Any other competing instruments that might have a better sound, less clarinet-like?
