I recently acquired a Balam strap. It is a great strap for tenor, but I cannot figure out how to shorten it sufficiently to accommodate my soprano. Jack Finucane has a video about adjusting the strap, but I've not been able to solve my issue after watching it. Jack does say in the video that the strap should work with a soprano.

I thought that the two knots – on front of strap, under the little metal bells left and right – could be retied shorter and that the main slider would then be used when switching between tenor and soprano. But this doesn't seem possible – I can't seem to get the strings short enough for soprano.

Has anyone had any luck in using the Balam for both horns?
