Hi I am looking for the transcription to the sax solo on "Bad to the Bone" I heard it was alto on the recording, but it sounds tenor to me? any help would be appreciated.

<boring story alert>
I worked on a local stage crew during ZZ top's Recycler tour. At around noon, I took a step backward and there was no more stage. I fell backward six feet down onto the bare concrete. Luckily, I didn't break my back, but there was enough soft tissue damage that I was out of work for eight weeks (couldn't even tie my shoes).
<end boring story>

I still get twinges of phantom Sciatica when I hear the bearded ones play.
I prefer George's version of BTTB.

Hank played the backing riffs on tenor, the solo on Alto, he wanted a New Orleans kinda feel. At least that is what he told me.

I never actually put it down on paper, I don't think he has either.

as I always say check Curtis's www.saxsolos.com site, he has just about everything you want, and if not he will do it. transcribing that is.

Lots of the more common sax solos and sax breaks. His method of notation is a little different but not so hard to grasp. I can't vouch for the accuracy, but it might get you started.
