I m planning to do the same at some point.
Although i was not aware of your solution im not sure it could work with the strange shape of the case.
I was thinking that i ll have to drill the aluminium frame around it to install some hooks, or drill the ABS shell on the back, but that needs to be reinforced with some big washers to handle the forces. Perhaps also with some extra ABS*or epoxy and glass fibre textile?

Just put the case in a good diver backpack and you will also have protection against the rain.

I added two D rings to allow the use of detachable back pack straps. You need to drill holes near the hinges and fix with pop rivets. Fairly easy DIY job.

there are very many similar diver’s ( I am one and I have one that I got from a garage sale) backpacks some cheap and lightweight.

You can also easily buy a secondhand one for very little money.
