That thread got pulled, probably due to the politicking. But there is another one that got rekindled:

Unfortunately, the usual suspects started to wreck that one too, but apparently upon my suggestion, have started their own thread to berate others. Hopefully they'll stick to that one and not meddle anymore with the accounts from players who are able to get out there and play again. Legally and as safely as they can.

I attended a "rent party" of sorts last evening. It was held in the back yard of the leader of the dominant "jazz" band in the area. Just like a park gig, everyone brought there own chairs, drinks & food & a tip jar was there for the band. A good time was had by all. I haven't had a gig since end of June but the effect was great. The day after the party I was walking on air. That flat funk of the past few months was gone. The following week was a bar gig with lots of room for people to isolate. The fans were super appreciative. One guy threw several fivers at each of the players feet as we were playing.

We're doing one of those tonight, in the rather vast backyard of a fan of my brass band. Lately on Thursday nights, we've been meeting for practice in a local park parking lot without any trouble. But tonight, it's more of a practice/gig. With tips and very appreciative folks wanting to hear us; well spread out of course.

I have 2 “mini big-band” gigs this weekend. Outside down the shore (Jersey) and people bring their own lawn chairs and what not to watch. Should be plenty of space between us and the audience, and hopefully a good amount between us as well (it’s usually a regular big band, so the smaller setup should help a bunch). Will report back after!
