I'm not sure what discussion could ensue from this but I just wanted to share my joy with people who understand . I'm a college freshman this year and I'm not playing much bari at the moment(sax quartet) but I was planning on auditioning for symphonic band and the top jazz band on bari next semester. I've played quite a bit of bari through high school as well. I've been hinting at my parents that I've wanted a bari for probably 3 years now and my mom decided to call the local music store and they told her about how Leblanc lost the stencil contract with Yani. The store had 3 horns and they have one of them left. I played one of these for about 4 months last year and absolutely loved the range of dynamics and the wonderful ergos. We've got mostly YBS-62s at school and I just can't get along with them. I came home for Thanksgiving tonight and my mom told me I needed to go to the store tomorrow and check out the baris. They also have a Low Bb Mark VI that I'm going to try, if its in good shape its a steal at 4500 dollars. I'm pretty excited. I'll probably end up paying for it myself somehow or another but it is nonetheless exciting for me.
