Paul Desmond's improv on this version of Take Five is just simply AWSOME.....

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevanc...+1966/video/x871j_dave-brubeck-take-five-1966

Has anyone got a copy of this video that they could e-mail to me or knows of anywhere that I can download a copy, or if this version is available on a CD album?

I have tried to get this version but Daily Motion won't allow downloading:(

I've got a few versions of Take Five, all are great but this version tops the bill for me. Every time I listen to it I get a lump in the throat and the hairs on the back stand on end!!

In my view, Paul Desmond ROCKS.

I have that CD as well. You get an early taste of him heading that direction with the solo section of this version of Take Five. He really mixed it up with his solos through the years on this tune and it is always fun to try and see if he's quoting anything.

Thats it.....the best Desmons solo IMO is when he and Jim Hall played "You'd be so nice to come home to"

YEPP he does!

You can get the same video in

then use

http://keepvid.com/

to download it to your hard drive.

You'll need a flv player to watch it from your hard drive.

Do a search on "Paul Desmond" on YouTube to get links for
other PD videos, featuring more works from that concert.
40 days
Take the a train
Koto Song, etc
Also other versions of Take 5 as well as 3 videos from a wonderful
1959 concert in Rome.

I hope that helps!

Cheers!!!
