hey Martin folks,

I may have a shot at picking up an old Indiana tenor for real cheap because its missing the neck. How realistic is it to find a replacement neck for it? Just in my casual web-browsing, I can't say I've ever seen somebody trying to sell a neck for a vintage horn (with the exception of Mark VI necks of course).

I do occasionally see Indiana tenors being sold off as basically a parts horn becuase they're in such bad shape - maybe I could find one of these that has a serviceable neck? Has anybody done something like this before, and still managed to keep the cost low when it was all said and done?

Often there are necks for sale on ebay. Seems like that's the way a lot of sellers get extra income from a horn. You might also want to check local repair guys to see if they have something suitable to fit/replace the original.
