I'd want nothing to do with a thing that eats 10 AAs at a time.
The Ad. does say that it will run from a 12v so a Lead-Acid (gell for pref.) could do the job of powering the amp.

The amp is for the backing track - right? You're surely not planning to amplify a sax with that????

Bill and I have discussed the subject many times - when busking outdoors (even when perfoming in a hall, as I have done), a small amp like this is only for the backing, sax doesn't need a mic. Mine, as mentioned before, is an Ashton BSK 158 buskers amp and it is 15W but with judicious control of the gain and volume, is fine for the job. There are additional inputs also. Best of all, it has an internal eight hour battery (it also runs from mains or car cigar lighter socket) - I've never run it that low, most I've used is four hours and when the next gig comes along, I charge it again anyway.
