mcudahy was kind enough to post this on a thread about Art but I just thought it should get top billing since I feel it's so significant I started this thread dedicated to Lauri's project.

And not like the usual jazz documentary (not that there's anything wrong with those, necessarily). I was sceptical when I heard about this film (NPR's "All Things Considered" had a story on it yesterday: "Art Pepper's Straight Life Goes Straight to YouTube"). But when I watched the clips, I liked what she was doing very much. BTW, the voice-overs of Art talking are from the same cassette tapes that formed the basis of the book, Straignt Life.
