I am curious to know what impressions of those who have played the JK manufactured Armstrong Heritage alto is?

It looks identical to the Couf Superba I without rolled tone holes but until I get in my hands I am seeking information.

Thank you.

More like a Superba II. No rolled tone holes and probably no high F#?
This looks mid 80s with the pearl F#3 no RTH with the cheaper key guards

I haven't tried one specifically with the "Armstrong Heritage" stamped on, but my guess is that it is essentially identical to the Keilwerth Toneking of the same era (i.e., the Toneking IV).

I recently bought and overhauled a silver-plated one of these and wrote a brief writeup here. You can also take a look at the photos to confirm whether or not it looks like the same horn.

I bought a new Armstrong Heritage tenor in 82 and still have it, didn't try the alto.
Tenor is very nice, has a big bell.

I was trying to sell it but decided it was worth getting a complete overhaul with sonic bath. It has so much wrong with it that I did not see what my tech did that I can't sell it to someone like that.

I will report on it after the overhaul.
