That makes sense. I didn't show any guns, or mention them for that reason. I guess I missed the fore-mentioned posts, damn. The pictures posted, btw, were from a hike in Waldo Canyon. Wersax knows Colorado springs apparently. We had Buffalo burgers at "the Keg" in Manitou Springs after the hike. Good eating!

I'm the idiot who decided to post a dead squirrel with a couple of GI Joe figures standing over it. Sorry to get your thread closed Marty. I hope your having a nice time in Colorado.
I think you both mentioned Waldo Canyon. My mother actually suggested it and guided us there. We made it to the beginning of the loop, and my wife wimped out. So we turned back, but it was really beautiful.
I saw no music while in Colorado. I brought my Sirius radio and listened to blues, jazz and Howard while driving through miles of mountains and forests.

It's a significant climb to the top of the loop -- fun at 7500+ feet.
Mountains+Sirius was time well spent; there's plenty of good music around MA but no mountain scenery like that (with all due respect to the Berkshires)!
Yup, you relative newbies have no history of the gun wars that were on this forum. I think my original avatar is my current myspace avatar, that didn't go over well. I used to post all sorts of machine gun pictures I have of me ripping it up out in Colorado at dragonmans range. The last avatar was of my wife in an Angie Dickenson pose with a Desert Eagle 50, that finally was removed a few months ago. Nope, no more guns on SOTW.
But I noticed, with less guns, there has been more silly stuff on the forum.

Marty,
Don't know if you've already made the trip to the Springs or not, but a couple of summers ago I was out there on business and stayed in the Antler's hotel (I think it might be renamed now, but locals will know where I'm referring to). There are several small micro-breweries downtown both in and around the Antlers. There was also a series of jazz concerts in the town square by the Civic Center, but that was in the summer, and we've just gotten past Laor Day. Colorado Springs does have it's depressed areas, but it's a fairly typical military based town with the USAFA, Petersen Field, and Fort Carson. Downtown is fairly yuppie-sized.
Yeah, cool. Plus, when we were there two years ago, there was a concession store where they had a good selection of quality NA flutes. They let you take them out into this little enclosed courtyard and test play them.
