I recently purchased a 2 signature Legere. I tried it on three RPC tenor mouthpieces, and I can't believe the results on my .115B!

The reed seems to change a lot depending on placement on the tip of the mouthpiece, and depending on ligature, but it is working well.

I usually play on a .110 and like to get a mellower sound, so I want to try some harder Legeres on those pieces.

Has anyone else had good results with Legere and RPC?

Yes, but on alto: Legere Signature 2 1/4 on a RPC 85 rollover. The Studio 2 1/4 works good, too.

Ron personally recommends Rico Jazz Select reeds for his pieces. But of course that doesn't mean you can't try anything else.

I use Rico jazz select, and love em! Of course when I was buying his pieces five or six years ago he was also recommending La Voz and Plasticover. And I think Jimmy Heath uses Vandoren with his RPC.

I like the Legere for practicing, because I can just grab the horn anytime without soaking the reed etc.
