Hello,

I just got a keen clamp and am excited for mobility. I'm looking for an inexpensive mic to put on it, and came across the PG56. Shure recommends it for saxophones on its website (whatever that is worth) and it is a good price, so...

anyone tried one? Any other thoughts on cheaper mics?

I can't spend much money and feel like a shure 57 hanging off my sax is a little ungainly. I like how the drum mics fit on the keen clamp.

Thanks for any advice,
Forrest

I've had some experience with the pg line of shure's. They're not up to the standard of the sm or beta's.

Your own mileage may vary. Try a couple side by side and see. Take back the loser. Most places have no problem with returns.
