I just ordered my JK SX90 soprano. It’s going to be 4-6 months before it gets here. So I have some time to find good mouthpiece.

On alto and tenor I play some original Geoff Lawton mouthpiece. Has anyone one played the new soprano mouthpieces by Jason Lawton? How do they compare to his father’s mouthpieces?

I was thinking something like an ebonite 7 or 7* plain chamber.

My Lawton alto mpc is an ebonite 7*B and tenor is a bronze 8B.

So no one's played Jason Lawton's soprano mouthpieces?

My personal take on Lawton soprano pieces is that they only work if you take a lot of mouthpiece in and really use a lot of air. But that's an opinion based on my experience of Geoff Lawton's not Jason's soprano pieces. Geoff's pieces really didn't suit my playing because I prefer a more focused and contained approach to soprano and prefer Soloist and Lelandais type pieces.
How much similarity there is between GL and JL I don't know, but a friend who is a big Lawton fan tells me Jason tends towards longer facings.
I'm sure someone else will have more info, but maybe this helps?
