The scale you proposed should be written like this (Bb to C# is a step and a half).:)

E F# G A Bb C D Eb

This would not be a very practical scale no matter what you call it since the top tone is a major 7th and not an octave above the root of the scale. Maybe you could dub it the "Impractical Scale". :)

You would find that in the D harmonic minor scale...
He was simply pointing out that the scale he wrote didn't match his WHWHWWH formula, mostly because it used that augmented 2nd instead of a whole step.

Gotcha. I didn't really even look at the WHWHWWH part. Those strings always just make me dizzy... :confused:
