Certainly appears to be a VI - round pearl for front F. Sometimes that's about all you have to go by. definitely a fat-sounding horn.
Didn't the SA-80 Series I also have the round front F pearl? Hard to see the bell to body brace.Certainly appears to be a VI - round pearl for front F. Sometimes that's about all you have to go by. definitely a fat-sounding horn.
That SA-80 Series 1 would have been brand new which is probably why it looks brand new. :bounce:wasn't his Mark VI a really early one, like 56k or so?
this looks like he's playing the SA80 discussed here: https://forum.saxontheweb.net/showthread.php?203320-Joe-Henderson-on-His-SA-80-Tenor
not really. here is one towards the end of this page: https://www.nicolastrefeil.com/saxophonesvintage.htmSA 80 all have high F# and brass teardrop front F
Not true. High F# - yes. Brass teardrop - no. You're thinking of Series II horns.SA 80 all have high F# and brass teardrop front F
