Never seen anything like this before. The side walls angle in such that the ceiling gets progressively narrower as it approaches the chamber. This is on an unmarked hard rubber bari mouthpiece.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. The shank shape and milling marks totally jive with that. The markings must have worn, or been buffed, off. I guess I didn't realize that the walls were angled in so much, but then again, maybe I've never seen one for bari.

Angling-in side walls (although less extreme than in the previous posts) can also be seen in what I guess is an earlier design, the Woodwind Co. Meliphone Special.

Some Wagners get pretty narrow, but I don’t think this much.

But the baffle looks low otherwise. I think this is another way to make mouthpiece sound like high wedge baffle.

For whatever reason, the Rousseau baritone JDX was their only mouthpiece with this type of design. They play well; have some bite.

They do actually play quite well.
Not a good choice for vintage horns where tuning is a challenge though.
