For tenor. I know some have played one or the other but I'm curious if any more of you have played both and can give some comments. Thanks. Gary

I have both a JodyJazz DV and DV NY I could test the Amma against...but only if someone could get one in my hands. No offense, Gary, I love ya and all...but I ain't shelling out $650 for a review ;)

Seriously, as soon as I get an Amma in my hands I'd be happy to write up a review.

Hi Gary, i've played both pieces and whilst i thought the DV was a nice enough piece, it didn't have anything particularly special about it....just felt like a good mass produced modern piece. The AMMA on the other hand blew me away....i have played the same Link for years and have never really wanted to change......until Theo sent me an AMMA . My full review wil be appearing on Theo's site soon. Genuinely, i have no need to endorse a product. i do not get anything for it. i really feel that this is the best piece i have played and allows my sound to come out to it's full potential.

Thanks for the comments and I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on Theo's site. Will it be accompanied with a sound clip?

I ask because the clips I've heard of the AMMA all have some kind of hollow-sounding core to them that I don't like (for myself) and it would interest me to hear if everyone had that basically in their AMMA sound or if it was just these particular players (who are excellent, BTW).

I will post some sound clips next week. i've not found the sound on mine hollow, just the opposite...really full .....like a great link but a bit fuller in sound. A crorr between a good Florida and a BD Dukoff. i think it's going to vary from player to player. As well as sound clips, Theo will be showing a clip of me playing the AMMA in a live concert.

Great! Looking forward to hearing your sound on the AMMA in comparison to the others. My comment on the "hollow" quality was not in the sound one hears at first but in that secondary ghost sound that many tones have. I'll be interested in "seeing" if I hear that in your sound clips as well.

BTW, your characterisation that the AMMA is "A cross between a good Florida and a BD Dukoff" I think is the way I've also seen Phil Barone's Hollywoods characterised. Interesting. Cheers!
