I'm looking for a saxophone concerto for alto sax and orchestra. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Style and difficulty?

There are quite a few.

As for the style, I don't want anything too impressionistic, and preferably I don't want to have to play in the altissimo register. Other than that, any difficulty is fine.

Try the Glazounov Concerto. The altissimo is optional.

I listened to that the other day, but I didn't fall in love with it. I think perhaps I'm looking for something more upbeat... any other suggestions?

Not sure what you mean.

Well, there's the Ibert Concertina, the Dubois, the Husa, the Dahl. Those have altissimo, though--and are pretty difficult.

Ibert (you can get away with only doing a bit of altissimo in that) but its not for full orchestra
Dahl - again there are lots of optional altissimo in it
Tomasi - no altissimo
Milhaud, scaramouche
villa lobos - good if you play sop
Rodney Bennet - can't remember if that has altissimo though...

I have been working on the Henri Tomasi concerto for a while now and I must say it is the most beautiful and technical concerto I have ever heard...for any instrument. Perhaps you would enjoy it too.
