Hey everybody,

I've really been getting into Freddie Hubbard's (Along with other trumpet players such as Avishai Cohen) playing lately. The chromatic style of improvisation he uses just sounds so hip and modern. Though this is great, I do wonder if there are any saxophone players that have this style of improvisation. Do you guys know of any saxophone players (preferably tenor, but anything works) that sound like Freddie Hubbard?

Thanks in advance.

Kenny Garrett in his early career was heavily influenced by Freddie Hubbard.....check out some of his recordings as a leader and sideman from the 80s.

I would probably be looking at soprano sax players (or Kenny Garrett as was suggested above).
