I found a tenor guard to replace the cage style replacement on my baritone and can not find any pictures of that spot that indicate the position

Wouldn’t it be about the same as any? Facing up in U fashion? Any signs of marks/wear from the felt on the key cup face?
I found some pictures but they are of the wire guard. And not a JK stencil.

Typically where the feet of the guard were soldered to the body gives you a "footprint" to go by. Lacking that, common sense should be your guide.
