You know what they use in those big *** metal boats? Those that ship thousands of tons of cargo, and have thousands of tons just by itself? Some small rods of metal that oxidates preferably to the metal of the boat.

The point is, you don't need to envelope the entirety of the sax to make sure it doesn't tarnish. Just a few anti-tarnish strips on the bottom and top of the sax and it's enough.

Anyone have a source for a bag big enough for this task or any other recos?
Look on Ebay for somebody selling anti-tarnish cloth by the yard. A single yard will be enough. Take it to a dry cleaning store that hems skirts and pants (assuming you don't know anybody with a sewing machine). Have the cloth sewn into a simple bag with a drawstring. Or you can get fancy and have the bag tailored, which adds to the cost and does nothing for the anti-tarnish protection. I got fancy with mine and made them sax shaped with zippers, but anything that fits inside the case will do.

I no longer have silver plated saxophones, but I still have a silver soprano and contrabass clarinet. Both have anti-tarnish bags that fit over them when on a stand or in their cases. I also put 3M strips in the bags and the case. And if I carry an ebonite mouthpiece in the case, it is in a ZipLoc bag. Sort of a belt, suspenders, thumbtacks approach. I hate polishing silver.

I bought 1 yard of Hagerty anti-tarnish cloth from Amazon after having my silver-plated soprano overhauled in the spring.A lady down the street sewed it for me into a bag. Very simple, and she was happy to help me.
This is what I did for my silver-plated Keilwerth ToneKing alto. I bought two yards of the cloth on amazon and sewed it into a bag (really more like a pillowcase).
